Description

From two survivors of the Parkland, Florida, shooting comes a declaration for our times, and an in-depth look at the making of the #NeverAgain movement.

On February 14, 2018, seventeen-year-old David Hogg and his fourteen-year-old sister, Lauren, went to school at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, like any normal Wednesday. That day, of course, the world changed. By the next morning, with seventeen classmates and faculty dead, they had joined the leadership of a movement to save their own lives, and the lives of all other young people in America. It's a leadership position they did not seek, and did not want--but events gave them no choice.

The morning after the massacre, David Hogg told CNN: "We're children. You guys are the adults. You need to take some action and play a role. Work together. Get over your politics and get something done."

This book is a manifesto for the movement begun that day, one that has already changed America--with voices of a new generation that are speaking truth to power, and are determined to succeed where their elders have failed. With moral force and clarity, a new generation has made it clear that problems previously deemed unsolvable due to powerful lobbies and political cowardice will be theirs to solve. Born just after Columbine and raised amid seemingly endless war and routine active shooter drills, this generation now says, Enough. This book is their statement of purpose, and the story of their lives. It is the essential guide to the #NeverAgain movement.

  • Cash grab by a traitor

This actual piece of garbage is going to sell a book and make money on the backs of his dead classmates all while calling for a crippling of one of the fundamental freedoms of the American people. A waste of paper and memory space.

The newest in a string of attempts by this jackass and CNN to lie some more. Next time get a real actor.

Nothing but a way for Hogg and company to stay relevant and sustain their 15 minutes of fame. Don’t fall for the hype. These kids are trying to push their beliefs off on others and if you disagree you are scrutinized and crucified. I wish they’d just go away. I live in Chicago, a city where inner city minority youth are left to rot in the streets in desperate, dead end situations. Thousands are shot and killed each year, yet no one says a word about that. That’s allowed right? But let 17 people who were predominately white get shot up and the whole WORLD has got to stop, right? This time Emma, I CALL B.S. on you, your classmates and ALL who support this movement. If this had happened at a black school, sure it would have made world headlines but it would not have been perpetuated on a weekly basis like this has been. I CALL B.S!
  • David Hogg and everyone at MSD High School are the reason I still believe in the human race.

After participating in March For Our Lives, I wanted to continue protesting. David Hogg and Emma are wonderful inspirations to teenagers and adults everywhere. They show the power of action, your voice and how you can make a good difference in the world. After reading the excerpt I’m excited to buy this book because I know David & Lauren Hogg will not disappoint, but inspire. #NEVERAGAIN
  • Bound to be a classic

Every generation has a book the captures the zeitgeist in a remarkable way. In most cases, the book is a work of fiction, but this memoir encapsulates the realities our children face in schools each and every day and it is as real (and raw) as writing can get. Our children live in a time where active shooter drills featuring actual guns shooting blanks makes more sense than restricting ownership of guns. Everyone should read this book.

I’m going to buy this book, just because it’s only $7 and supports a worthy cause. I’m so proud of these kids. David Hogg for president!

All these negative reviews and the book isn’t even out yet. Now I’ll be sure to buy it just because of all the negative nellies. Then I’ll revisit my review.

Boycotters of this book have simply lived too comfortably. That’s all. If only we all lived so fearlessly and fortunately as to write a book about experiences like this. Until you do, keep your mouth shut about these kids doing the same.
